Justine

I’m Justine, a female with white with black coloring about  1 year old and weighing 38 lbs. The shelter where I was rescued said I was a 4 month old standard schnauzer. I’m glad they had no idea I wasn’t a schnauzer, otherwise I wouldn’t have been saved by SRT. So I’m now one of the schnauzer friends. I’m a friendly girl, a little submissive but very sweet. I’m good with my other 4-legged friends and gentle around humans. I haven’t been tested around children, but should be fine as I’m very sweet, remember? You won’t have to spend a lot of money on grooming for me, just a bath and I’m good to go. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Justine, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Baylor

I’m Baylor, a salt and pepper male miniature schnauzer, about 4 years old and weighing a solid 22 lbs. I was rescued from a local shelter and have had a nice spa day to clean up all of the dreadlocks! I was good with my grooming and bath, but one thing I definitely do not like is to be picked up. Hey, I just like to keep my 4 paws on the ground. I would do best in an all adult home. I like to play with other pups and Ella is my best friend–we hang out together all the time. I’d love to be in a home so I could show off my skills, but right now I’m in boarding. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Baylor, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Boy Bear

“Oh, it doesn’t matter what they say in the papers, ’cause it’s always been the same old scene.  There’s a new band in town but you can’t get the sound from a story in a magazine;  Aimed at your average teen.  Everybody’s talkin’ ’bout the new sound, funny, but it’s still rock and roll to me!”  Times are a changing.  These young kids have a new word for just about everything…like it’s something really new.  But most things just stay the same. Kind of like a man and his dog.  That never goes out of style.  Companionship.  There’s just not other words that describe it!  I’m Boy Bear…if you say it fast, it sounds like Boyds Bear!  I’m a kidder.  I’m a male Miniature Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’m about eight years old and I weigh about fourteen pounds.  My previous owner died and, well, keeping up with a dog and his needs wasn’t easy in the end.  I like the human friends I’ve met but I would do better around older children. I’m generally fine with other dogs.  I am crate trained and I’m house trained too. I’ve got a lot of love I can share!  I just completed cataract surgery. One bad eye had to be removed but I’m like a new man with my other eye! I can see again. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Boy Bear, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $200.

Keyko (fostered in San Antonio)

I’m Keyko, a tan and silver male schnauzer/terrier mix. I’m about 1 year old  and weigh about 16 pounds. I’m great meeting new pups and very friendly towards everyone I meet. I’m house and crate trained and also good on a leash. I have lots of talents!  Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Keyko, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Truman

“O Christmas tree! Not only in the summertime, but even in winter is they prime! O Christmas tree! How are they leaves so verdant!” It doesn’t matter to me if it’s summertime or wintertime – I’m always there as your affectionate, loyal friend. O Truman! My name is Truman and I’m a male, liver-parti Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail. I’m about eight years old and I weigh about ten pounds. I have a friendly, outgoing personality and I’ll just walk right up and greet anyone I see. I’ve got a great temperment and I think I’d be great with older kids.  I’m easy to handle and I do great on a leash! I’m crate trained and I’m house trained too! I’ve interacted with other four-legged friends and I do well playing with others. I’d love a home where we hang out and spend time together. I’ve missed that in a relationship! O forever home! I’ve just completed cataract surgery and I’m doing well. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Truman, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $200.

Eliza Jane (fostered in the Dallas area)

I’m Eliza Jane, a brown and tan female, schnauzer/terrier mix. I’m about 2 years old  and weigh about 15 pounds. I’m a little shy and submissive, but enjoy other dogs and playtime. I have a little separation anxiety, but I know once I have my forever home, I’ll be much happier and secure.  I’m house trained and my favorite place is curled up in your lap. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Eliza Jane, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Diesel – a puppy!

I’m Diesel, a male, schnauzer/terrier mix. I’m about 3 months old  and weigh about 7 pounds. I’m a curious and playful pup and will play with big and small dogs.  My tail never stops wagging and I also   toys. I’m working very hard on proving my house training skills. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Diesel, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Wiggles

I’m Wiggles, a male, terrier mix. I’m about 6 months old and weigh about 23pounds. I’m the perfect dog – house and crate trained and love to cuddle with you on the couch. I get along great with other pups and should be good with children. I’m losing my foster home because their work schedule requires more travel and as you know a puppy needs lots of playtime and challenges.  Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Wiggles, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Twister

I’m Twister, a terrier mix, 7 months old  and 12 lbs. with  natural ears and tail. I love playing with another dog or curling up in your lap while you watch tv. I am house and crate trained and a good traveler in the car. I sleep in the crate at night and don’t make a sound. My foster buddy is Lucky Lou and we have the best time playing with toys and chasing each other around the yard. So, I’m not a schnauzer, but I do hang out with a few! If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Twister, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Ella

I’m ELLA a female, black Schnauzer mix, 1 year old and 24 lbs. with  natural ears and tail. I was found wandering around a construction site and animal control took me to a local shelter. Luckily lots of people were watching out for me and I was pulled pretty quickly. I am a submissive girl but my tail never stops wagging. I would love to be in a home where I can show off my other talents.   If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Ella, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Shelby Rue

I’m Shelby Rue, a female, black Schnauzer mix, 3 years old and 10 lbs. with  natural ears and tail. I’m a very sweet girl who loves people. I’ve heard about therapy dogs and I think I would be great at it because I love to be held and to stay right with my human. I’m actually losing my foster home because they are gone so much and I miss them when they are away. I’ve been working very hard on my house training skills. I really don’t need a companion animal , but I’m OK with another 4-legged friend. I was good with my bath and haircut too. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Shelby Rue, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Shady

I’m Shady a female black schnauzer mix, 1 year old, 31 pounds with natural ears and tail. I’m a little shy meeting new people, but I warm up pretty quickly. I came down with a respiratory infection and am being treated for it right now, but as soon as I’m feeling better, SRT will update you with my status.  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Shady, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Tango

I’m Tango a male, salt and pepper miniature schnauzer, 2 years old and 16 lbs, with natural ears and docked tail.  I’m currently in boarding and would love to be in a home so I can show off all of my talents. I do know that I am crate trained and a good car rider. Getting groomed and bathed are things I enjoy — I went too long without and love being clean now. Since I’m a little stressed with all of the changes, I would prefer a family with older children.  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Tango, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Sasha

I’m Sasha  a female, black and brown (maybe there is some schnauzer in me) 1 years old and 45 lbs. with  natural ears and tail.  I was recently rescued from a local shelter and am enjoying playing with my new friends at the kennel. I’m a friendly girl and get along with everyone. I know I’m not a schnauzer, but am glad I am safe. I know SRT will find me a great home.   If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Sasha, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Dakota

I’m Dakota a female, black and tan Schnauzer mix, about 4 years old and weigh 18 lbs. with natural ears and tail.  I was recently rescued from a local shelter and am enjoying spending time with my foster family and my foster brother and sister. I’m very timid and may shake or even roll over when I meet new people. I know once in a home, I’ll learn what it’s like to be loved and I’ll gain confidence that all will be well again. I had a nice haircut and didn’t mind it at all, and I even like baths. The groomer was fine with me laying down on the table too!  My foster family says I am such a sweetheart and have so much love to offer my “forever” family when I find them.  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Dakota, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Prince Charming

I’m Prince Charming a male, chocolate and tan Miniature Schnauzer, 1 year old, 14 pounds with natural ears and tail. I’m super friendly with everyone I meet and enjoy ear and belly rubs and watching TV with you. I also like playing with another 4-legged friend. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Prince Charles, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Brooklyn

I’m Brooklyn, a female salt and pepper miniature schnauzer, 3 years old and 15 lbs. I was recently rescued from a local shelter along with my daughter, Skylar and baby son, Bruno. Life hasn’t been easy trying to raise these kids alone. Since I now have help with them and don’t have to worry about feeding them, I can go to my forever home. I’m house and crate trained, quiet, a good car rider and get along with other dogs. I should be good with children. I do have a dry eye condition and will require eye drops, but hey that’s not a big deal, right? If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Brooklyn, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Antonio

I’m Antonio, a male, white Miniature Schnauzer mix. I’m about 5 months and 20 pounds. Me and my brother and sister were found dumped in a ditch along the road. My foster mom thinks I’m the sweetest boy though and have house training down now. I get along with others and am an affectionate boy waiting on my perfect home. I love to play and running and playing outside on a sunny day is the best ever. I like people, kids and other dogs. I give my foster family kisses to thank them for taking such great care of me. Toys are another favorite of mine and I know to play and chew only on those toys. Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Antonio, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Abe

I’m Abe, a male, brown beagle, something else mix,  3 years old and 25 pounds. I’m timid, but playful and my foster mom says I’m a quick learner. I’m completely housetrained, crate trained and walk wonderfully on a leash (mom says so). I love other dogs, both big small and sunbathing outside when it is cool is fun. It has been wonderful at my foster home, I’m learning to trust humans again and even go thru doorways now on my own. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Abe, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Sabrina Rose

I’m Sabrina Rose, a female, strawberry-blonde, 2 years old, 12 pounds furry friend with SRT. I get along fine with other dogs although I do try to be the alpha sometimes. Unfortunately no one is buying my alpha role.  My foster mom thinks I’ll be good with children, but I haven’t been around any yet. I love attention and like to play and toys are great fun. I’m house and crate trained, but who needs a crate? Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Sabrina Rose, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Parker (fostered in the Abilene area)

I’m Parker a male, black & brown Schnauzer mix, 3 years old, 13 pounds with natural ears and tail. I’m a happy guy who enjoys playing with other dogs, but I sometimes like to bully the smaller ones–in a nice way. I’m a little exuberant when meeting new people, so my foster mom thinks children who are 10 years and older would be best for me. I only have one eye, but that doesn’t slow me down at all. Most of all, I love being in your lap and getting that wonderful ear rub. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Parker, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400

Diamond (fostered in Abilene area)

I’m Diamond a female, brown (with silver highlights) Schnauzer Mix, 2 years old, 22 pounds with natural ears and tail. I would prefer a home with children who are over 10 years old as the younger ones make me a bit nervous. I enjoy playing with other dogs and having  a companion dog who likes to play too would be awesome. Grooming and vet visits are scary for me, but I try to be brave and not move at all.  I’m learning from my foster home, that humans can be kind. It will take me a little more time to be convinced, but I’m getting there. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Diamond, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400

Kutter (fostered in Abilene area)

I’m Kutter, a male, black & silver Miniature Schnauzer, 2 years old, 16 pounds with natural ears and tail. I love everyone I meet and my tail never stops wagging. I used to live outdoors all the time and love being inside with my foster family. I would do fine with children, but since I’m so happy to see them, it would best they are over 5 years old so I don’t knock them down with my happy greeting. I was scared at the groomer, but was very brave and they said I was excellent. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Kutter, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400

Timmy (fostered in the Abilene area)

I’m Timmy a male, tan (with reddish highlights), 3 years old, 10 pound terrier mix. I would do best in a home with children who are 12 years or older.  I enjoy playing with 4-legged pals and do well with both boys and girls. I don’t need to be groomed often, but when I do, I’m fine getting spruced up. My favorite thing in the world is cuddling with you and the second thing is sleeping under the covers.  If that’s not your thing, I’m OK with sleeping in my crate too.  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Timmy, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400

Mila

img_0066

I’m Mila a female, black Schnauzer mix, a year old , 45 pounds with natural ears and tail. I’m house trained and good around children–even toddlers. I would prefer to be an only dog as I don’t like to share my toys or food! I’m good with grooming and bathing. Since I’m a mix, I don’t need to be groomed as often so less expense. That’s a good thing, right? If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Mila, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400

Nami

I’m Nami, a female, black Schnauzer mix, 18 months old, 12 pounds with natural ears and tail. For some reason, my owners dropped me off at a kill shelter. I can’t explain it as I’m a sweetheart (if I do say so myself). I can tell you that my former owner didn’t believe in flea prevention. I’m so glad I’m with SRT and they took care of those nasty things. I’m currently in boarding and haven’t shared all of my talents, but I am crate trained, good on a leash, happy to be picked up and petted. I was a little scared getting groomed, but I was very brave and now know it doesn’t hurt. I’ve been a quiet girl too and don’t make a fuss. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Nami, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Maks

I’m Maks a male, white Miniature Schnauzer, 2 years old, 13 pounds with natural ears and tail. I was just rescued from a local shelter. The first thing SRT volunteers did was to give me a haircut. You see, I hadn’t had one in my entire life. I was a bundle of mats all stuck together and was lucky I could even walk. I have to admit that I’m a handsome fellow.  I was so patient with the grooming and pedicure, they gave me an A+ for my behavior. I’ve been quiet in my crate at the kennel, easy to walk on a leash and I loved posing for my pictures even though I was so excited that I was clean. I have a little respiratory infection and am at the vet’s now recovering. I should be good as new in a short while. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Maks, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Kurt (fostered in Dallas area)

I’m Kurt a male, chocolate Schnauzer Mix, 18 months old, 13 pounds with a natural tail and ears. My foster mom thinks I’m the best foster she’s ever had. She said I have a wonderful temperament, and good playing with her other dogs. I should be fine around the little kids too, but haven’t been tested. I’m housetrained and a quiet car rider. My foster mom says I will be gorgeous once my coat comes back in nice and shiny. If interested, click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Kurt, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Muppet Baby – A Puppy!

I’m Muppet Baby, a female black & white Miniature Schnauzer, 6 months old, 15 pounds with natural ears and tail. I’m a friendly girl who gets along fine with other dogs. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Muppet Baby, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Banana Joe – A Puppy!

I’m Banana Joe, a male, black Miniature Schnauzer, 8 months old, 13 pounds with a natural tail and ears. I enjoy playing with my new friends at the kennel but would prefer to be in a home. I enjoy car rides and ear rubs. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Banana Joe, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Jake….From State Farm!

“What are you wearing, Jake from State Farm?”  “Uh…khakis.”  Ha ha! I love that commercial. I wear black khakis! I’m Jake and I’m a male, black Schnauzer Mix with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about four years old and I weigh just ten pounds. I’m totally blind. I’m just going to get that one out there from the start. But, you might be surprised what all I can do! I’m a good and friendly boy. I play well with others but I like my space when it’s feeding time. When you can’t see who might be trying to sneak a bite of your food, you get a little protective of it! I like a few toys and sometimes I try to play with the other dogs with toys. I can’t say that I’m house trained but I’ve had very few accidents at my foster mom’s home. I do well once I navigate where the door is and when I’m taken out at regular intervals. Team approach! I’m not really big on the whole crate thing. I love being outside and enjoy the wind in my face. I do like walks but I’m going to need some help with that leash. Every walk is a new experience. Close your eyes when you walk…and you’ll see what I mean! If you have some patience and love, that’s all I need to be happy! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Jake – From State Farm, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Corbin

I’m Corbin a male, tri-color schnauzer mix, 18 months old, 16 pounds with a natural tail and ears. I’m a little shy when meeting new people and will dance around wanting to meet you, but still a little hesitant. My tail never stops wagging though. I like other dogs and would do best with older children as I think the younger ones would scare me. I would love to be in a home as I’ve been in boarding since rescued. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Corbin, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Champ

I’m Champ, a male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer, 10 years old, 14 pounds, with cropped ears and a docked tail. I love staying with my foster mom who has been taking such good care of me. I now get good food, baths and lots of cuddle time. My last owners said they didn’t have the money to feed me or care for me. I was sad to lose my home, but now know that things are much better. SRT has made sure I had the medicine I need for my skin infections from those nasty fleas (who are all gone now) and I’ve even had a nice dental so my teeth are pearly white. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Champ, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $100.

Ruffles

I’m Ruffles, a female, black Schnauzer Mix, 6 years old, 21 pounds with natural ears and a docked tail. My foster mom said I’m the best foster ever. She’s selling her house and said no more fosters, except for me. I can stay. I’m quiet and enjoy playing with my foster brother. I so enjoy hanging out with my foster family and they  let me curl up on the coach with them and even on their tempurpedic! I’m completely housetrained, good around children. Since I’m not a purebred, I do shed a little, but the trade off is less expense on grooming! If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Ruffles, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $300.

Whitney

I’m Whitney, a female, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer, 11 years old, 15 pounds with natural ears and a docked tail. I’m very calm and like nothing better than to curl up beside you and relax. I do have a dry eye condition which requires eye drops, but they are not expensive and I’m really good about letting my foster mom put them in my eyes. I also have some cataracts so have a little trouble seeing, but I can find the dog door and do my business outside. My hearing isn’t so great either, but thunderstorms and firecrackers don’t scare me now. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Whitney, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $100.

Thumper

I’m Thumper, a male, white Schnauzer/Poodle Mix, 10 years old, 21 pounds, with natural ears and docked tail. I’m great with other dogs, but I don’t really need a playmate. At my age, a ride in the car or laying in the sun on a nice day works just fine. I’m house trained and enjoy sitting next to you while you watch tv or just hang out. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Thumper, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $100.

Valentin (adoption pending)

I’m Valentin, a male, black & brown yorkie mix, 2 years old, 12 pounds. I’ve fallen in love with my foster mom and follow her everywhere. At first I didn’t want her other dogs to come near her, but now realize they like her too. I would do fine as an only dog though that way I don’t have to share at all. I’m house trained, a good car rider and fine around children. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Valentin, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Hazel

I’m Hazel a female, chocolate & tan Schnauzer Mix, 2 years old, 20 pounds with natural ears and tail. I adore my foster mom and love cuddling with her as much as I can. Sometimes she has to go to work even though I would prefer she stay with me 24/7. I’m leash trained, crate trained and house trained. I also love to play fetch and even sometimes bring it back. Since I’m still a young girl, I like to chew on things so my foster mom gives me kongs to keep me busy while she is away. I would prefer an all adult home as children make me very nervous with the squeals and fast movements.  If interested, click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Hazel, as a dog of interest. My adoption Fee $400.

Homer

I’m Homer, a male, black Miniature Schnauzer, 9 years old, 29 pounds with natural ears and a docked tail. My life hasn’t been that easy and so I’m glad I was rescued by SRT. I’ve put on 7 lbs since I was pulled from that shelter and still need a few more pounds so I can look my very best. My coat was also in bad shape, but with the medicated baths and medication, it is coming back and I know it will be shiny again. I prefer an all adult home where I can spend my senior years relaxing. I’m good with grooming and my bath and enjoy feeling clean!  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Homer, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $200.

Travis (fostered in the Dallas area)

I’m Travis,  white and tan male, 1 year old, 13 pounds with natural ears and tail. Yeah, I know I’m not a schnauzer, but I am cute. I like other dogs and enjoy play time. My BFFs are a heeler and a Great Pryenees and their bigger size doesn’t faze me at all.  I also enjoy kids and will curl up with them while they are doing their homework. I’m good riding in the car and quiet while at home. I sleep in my crate at night so I don’t hog the bed. Since I’m not a schnauzer, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on grooming. I’m a wash and go kind of guy. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Travis, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Ludwig

I’m Ludwig, a male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer, 10 years old, 13 pounds with natural ears and a docked tail. When I was pulled from the shelter, the good folks at SRT didn’t think I was going to make it. But I’m a tough dude. The vet stitched me up and there were A LOT of stitches. I’ve fully recovered and am doing great. Unfortunately my vision is gone, but that doesn’t stop me from following one of my pals around. I so enjoy cuddle time with my foster and look forward to the day I have my forever home. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Ludwig, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $100.

Dalton – A Puppy! (fostered in Austin)

I’m Dalton, a male, black, 5 month old, 11 lbs. short haired breed. OK, so the shelter folks told SRT I was a schnauzer. Saved my life so I don’t mind their little white lie.  As you can imagine, I love to play and run around and have fun. I’ve learned that house training and crate training are important and I always want to please. My foster dad takes me on walks so I can get the hang of that too. Chloe Marie

I’m Chloe Marie, a white female, 2 years old, 7 pound, maltese with natural ears and tail. Hey I could be a schnauzer–check out my beard. Things have been a little rough for me since my owner had to go into the nursing home. I used to just sit on her lap and it was just the 2 of us. I REALLY prefer to the your only one. I’m now with a professional trainer who is helping me to understand that it is OK to have other dogs in the house. My new best friend is a 5 year old who I follow around. I am even ignoring the other dogs and am focusing on her. I so want to please, but it is hard. If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Chloe Marie, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Paw Paw (aka Papa Bear; being fostered in Austin)

My name is PawPaw and I am eight year, 18 lb. schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail.  I’ve had a rough and tumble sort of background but I’m counting my blessings now. I’m looking better and feeling better than I have in a long time. My foster mom says I’m so handsome I might have been a stud and have many children here in Texas. Wow! Those days are over, I’ve been neutered. I’m still an excellent watchdog. I love my foster family and hope my forever home will be like this. I need the company of adults because I just don’t do well with small children or small noisy dogs. But I do get along super with my foster sister, who is a mini Doxey and gives me my space. I like walks and do well on a leash but I don’t require a lot of exercise. I love a little bit of attention and someone who knows just where to scratch me behind my ears. Oh that’s heaven! My backyard here is not very big but I enjoy laying in the sun. I get around the yard and the house perfectly even though I do have cataracts that limit my vision. My hearing is great though and I’ll come running when you call me for supper. There is a dog bed In every room in this house, but generally I just curl up near my foster mom’s feet. My dream is to be close to the person I love who will love ❤️ me forever – – is that person you? If so, click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Paw Paw, as a dog of interest. Adoption Fee $200

Penelope

“I was checking you out, I was just making sure. No, I don’t want to be alone anymore. And, I want you tonight!” If possible though, I want you this afternoon….so I can be in your home by tonight! Can we do that?! I’m Penelope and I’m a female, black Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a  natural tail. I’m about one year old and I weigh about twelve pounds. Do I look like Dobby from the Harry Potter movies? Don’t answer that. That’s like answering a woman when she asks if a dress makes her look fat. No, let’s just leave this one alone too! I am a friendly girl and just a little bit shy at first. I’m very sweet and I warm up very quickly. Give me one small treat and I’m your best friend for life! I’m afraid of loud noises so I’d like a home that is more calm. I’m the perfect lap dog and I’m happy to just be with you! With my demeanor, I should be a great fit with kids (who don’t make many loud noises!). I do well with other dogs and I never cause a problem. I like walks and I do pretty well on a leash. I’m completely crate trained and also house trained too! I’ve been checking you out just to make sure. Now you check me out! And then, let’s make it official! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Penelope, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Huey

“Grandma got run over by a reindeer, walking home from our house Christmas eve.” I didn’t get run over by a reindeer, I just had a little respiratory infection. But that’s behind me so let’s get on that sleigh together! I’m Huey and I’m a male, salt & pepper Schnauzer mix (likely a Schnoodle – part Poodle / part Schnauzer) with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about eight years old and I weigh about nineteen pounds. I’m leash trained and I’m also crate trained (but not a big fan of it to be honest). But I’m house trained too…so what’s the point?! I’m a good boy, pretty quiet, and I’m sweet and friendly…though a little timid at first. Once I see how you treat dogs and that I won’t be hurt, I’ll be your best pal! I’m not a real big fan of baths. Maybe I hadn’t had one in a while….I thought I was being attacked by aliens! I’ll keep you updated on my skills and personality. Don’t need to know more? Then click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Huey, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $200

Brandon

I’m Brandon, a  male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer, 13 years old, 22 pounds with natural ears and tail. I may be nearly blind and a senior,  but it doesn’t slow me down. I quickly memorized my foster home and I can outwalk the hardiest walker. I love playing tug-of-war, going on long walks to be petted and loved on. I’m a great watchdog and have a good sense of hearing. I really don’t like young puppies who are annoying and always jumping around on me. I don’t mind dogs who are calm like me. I’m also fine with cats — they don’t bother me at all!  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Brandon, as a dog of interest. Contact SRT for my adoption fee.

Randy

I’m Randy, a male, salt & pepper Miniature Schnauzer, 1 year old, 16 pounds, with natural ears and tail. I can be a little nervous around small children who move quickly and makes lots of noise, so I would prefer a home with older children. I don’t mind being groomed or bathed and enjoy riding in a car. I’m house and crate trained, though I don’t always like to go in the crate.  If interested in adopting,  click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Randy, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

** Adoption Pending ** Roxie

“In the New Year, never forget to thank your past years because they enabled you to reach today! Without the stairs of the past, you cannot arrive at the future!” It was a journey but I’ve been climbing those stairs. I made it all the way to the pinnacle known as SRT. And now, just another step to go to reach your loving forever home! I’m Roxie and I’m a female, black & white Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about two years old and I weigh about twenty-seven pounds. I’m a little timid and shy as I adjust to my new environment here but I love my human friends and I just love to be petted. You and me…on the couch. You pet me. I lay against you. You stop. I paw at you to keep going! I learned that trick all by myself….and it works! I’ve been around other dogs and though I growled a bit when I first came (remember I was a little scared at first), I’m not growling any more. I think it was my new environment…not my personality. Nonetheless, I should probably not rush to a home with small children until more is known about me and my personality. I’m crate trained and I know how to use the doggy door. I have never had an accident in my foster mom’s house….sounds like I’m house trained to me! At night, I’ve been sleeping in a dog bed in the dining room. I’m a good girl at night and I’ll wait patiently for you to wake up so we can start a new day together! That’s a future I want. I hope you do to. If so, click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Roxie, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Lunar

“Be near me Lord Jesus, I ask you to stay, close by me forever, and love me I pray.” Allergies of the newest child left me without a home. Reminds me of that Christmas carol…away in a manger, no crib for a bed. But my family reached out to SRT and didn’t take me to a shelter…so I was blessed. But now I’m looking to you – to stay close by me forever and love me I pray! I’m Lunar and I’m a female, white dog of unknown descent (doesn’t that sound familiar too?). I’m four years old and I weigh about twenty-six pounds. I have natural ears and a natural tail. I like interacting with my human friends and I listen to basic commands like sit, lay down and shake. I also love playing fetch and, unlike most Schnauzers, I’ll even bring the ball back! I had three children in my prior family and I loved them very much. Kids like to play – and so do I! I also enjoy most other four-legged friends and I play nicely. I’m leash trained and enjoy walks with my owner. I’m also crate trained and completely house trained too! Other than not being a Schnauzer, I think I’m a pretty complete picture! Help me find another forever home. I pray! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Lunar, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Sabre

srt-sabre-m     srt-sabre-j     srt-sabre-l

“Sing choirs of angels, sing in exultation! Glory in the highest! Oh come let us adore him!” I’ve dreamed of being in a home where someone adores me. It’s the way a dog is supposed to live! I adore you and you adore me! I’m Sabre and I’m a male, white Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about ten years old and I weigh about twenty-two pounds. I’m a very sweet boy and friendly with my owners. I’m also a bit typical of an older gentleman…a little set in my ways! I don’t really like to be picked up. I don’t like people messing with my face. I do like being outside when it’s nice and I’ll bark to let you know that it’s time for me to come in. Not the other way around you see! The ideal family for me would be a senior couple that just wants a good boy who lets you know that he adores you! I’m leash trained and I do enjoy going for walks. I’m also crate trained and I’m house trained too. I have good manners you know! I’ve played with other dogs and I do fine with them. I can have a friend or not have a friend. Older gents can be a bit indifferent in that way! Look at this face. Look at the adoration! Pick me! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Sabre, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $100.

Tay

image1-1     img_8173

“There’s hunger everywhere, we’ve got to take a stand; Reach out for someone’s hand. Love makes the world go round!” My world has been going ’round and ’round…and love didn’t have anything to do with it. The lack of love, maybe! I want to see how my world spins when I’m in your loving forever home! I’m Tay and I’m a male, black Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about three years old and I weigh about thirteen pounds. I’m somewhat of a shy and timid boy but, once I warm up, I just can’t get enough of my human friends. I would probably be OK around gentle children. I like other dogs and I’m fine with them. I’m one of the quiet ones…you’ll like that about me! I like to go on walks and I’m going to say that I’m an expert on a leash. Almost an expert. I’m crate trained and I’m house trained too! I’ve got a certificate with my name on it! Do you have a frame? You can hang it above my dog bed! I’ve got it all planned out. Let’s get started! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Tay, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

Lucky Lou

“Now I wait for a break in the silence ’cause it’s all that you left. Just me and these four walls again.” On my own. Hit by a car. Multiple broken bones and fractures and an internal injury too. You might think that it’s just too tall of an order. But SRT, like they always do, came to save the day! I’ve had my surgery and though I’m still recovering, I can now begin looking for a forever home. I’m Lucky Lou – and I am lucky! I’m a male, black Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m just one year old and I weigh about nine pounds. I have a wonderful, loving temperament and I’m really good at giving kisses! I love kids and I have experience. They get kisses too! I’m good with other dogs and I’m partial to small dogs or those just slightly bigger than me. I don’t do as well around big dogs. I bark at them like I’m the one in charge! I sleep in my crate all night! Unfortunately, I’m not house trained and it’s possible, due to my injuries, the surgery and potential damage to some nerve endings, that I might never be. I’m OK with a belly band and I sleep on a pad in my crate. I have such a sweet personality and I’m such a good boy. I just need that one home where my one issue isn’t a deal breaker. Maybe it’s you! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application an put me, Lucky Lou, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.

“Comparisons are easily done once you’ve had a taste of perfection. Like an apple hanging from a tree, I picked the ripest one. I still got the seed.” I thought I had it made. I had a home! But I wasn’t cared for and then they just gave me up. No time for me they said. Yep…I still got the seed. But I think your forever home might be completely different. I know it! I’m Sterling and I’m a male, pepper & brown Schnauzer mix with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about two years old and I weigh just thirteen pounds. I’m a friendly boy and I’m very playful. I still have some young guy energy! I should be great around kids. Kids like to play and I’m as gentle as I am friendly! I like other dogs – particularly big dogs, believe it or not! Maybe I feel protected when I’m with them. Or maybe I just like playing with the big boys! I am crate trained and I’m now house trained too! I also am trained on a leash…or, at least I do pretty well on one when we go for walks! I like to go for car rides too and I’m pretty quiet when we go places. I like dog parks…there’s always big dogs there! I think we could have lots of fun together. Your home has no seeds! Click the ‘Adopt’ tab, complete your adoption application and put me, Sterling, as a dog of interest. My adoption fee is $400.
