Dak (Sugarland, TX)

Dak is a sweet 9-year-old, 41-lb Labradoodle who has had his whole world turned upside down in the blink of an eye.  He lost his beloved dad suddenly—and within just a few days, he also lost the home and pup siblings he knew and loved. Sadly, no one in the family was able to take him in. Dak is understandably grieving, but underneath that sadness is an absolute love bug who deserves the chance to feel safe and loved again. His dad took wonderful care of him, and it shows. Dak is house-trained, comfortable in a kennel, walks nicely on a leash, and is a great car rider. What Dak needs now is a quiet, patient family who understands that he may need a little time to decompress and adjust. Other dogs are welcome—he’s perfectly happy sharing his home with canine friends.  At 9 years old, Dak isn’t looking for a wild adventure. He’s looking for something much more important: a soft place to land, a family to trust, and a forever home where he can be loved for the rest of his life. Please don’t overlook the older pups. They have so much love left to give, and Dak is ready to give all of his to someone who will give him a second chance. Could you be the family Dak has been waiting for? Approved adopters, send an email to SRT@SchnauzerRescueTexas.me if interested. Or apply to Adopt on the website. Adoption fee $200

Tooty (Houston, TX)

Tooty is a 3-year-old, 14-lb Miniature Schnauzer who is new to rescue and ready to find the loving family she deserves. This sweet girl recently completed a 10-day stray hold at BARC while waiting for her owners to reclaim her. Sadly, no one came for her.   Despite the stress and uncertainty, Tooty remained happy, friendly, and resilient throughout her stay. In fact, her handler at BARC was genuinely sad to see her leave. We’re still getting to know Tooty, but so far she has been an absolute delight. She is house-, crate-, and leash-trained, easy to groom, friendly, affectionate, playful, and eager to please. She will surely be your future shadow.
Tooty appears to do well with other dogs, though she’s a little overwhelmed by the large number of pups in her foster home. She would likely thrive as an only dog soaking up all the attention, or in a home with one or two calm, easygoing canine companions. If
you’re looking for a sweet, resilient companion with a heart full of love, Tooty may be the perfect match. Complete your application under the Adopt tab, asking for Tooty. Adoption fee $400

Hendrix (San Antonio, TX)

Meet Hendrix, a 6-year-old, 20-pound salt-and-pepper Miniature Schnauzer whose world has been upended by his owner’s illness. With no family able to keep him, Hendrix is hoping to find a loving home where he can flourish in comfort and care. He’s house-, crate-, and leash-trained, the kind of tidy, well-mosed buddy who thrives on routines and daily affection. Hendrix has happily shared spaces with kids and other dogs and loves playful sessions with his canine friends. He has no known cat experience, so a cat-free home is best unless careful introductions are arranged. Though a bit timid at first, Hendrix is energetic and eager to please—he blossoms with gentle guidance, patience, and a steady, loving routine. He adores cuddling and quickly becomes a loyal, devoted companion once he trusts you. He’s brave at the vet and groomer, proving he can handle new experiences when he’s with a calm and confident handler. Hendrix is ready to trade shelter life for a forever home where he can feel safe, cherished, and unconditionally loved. If you’re an approved adopter, please email SRT@SchnauzerRescueTexas.me to meet Hendrix or apply under Adopt, asking for Hendrix. Adoption fee: $300.

Schiatzi (Haslet, TX)

Meet Schiatzi, a very handsome 11-year-old, 26-pound black-and-white Miniature Schnauzer with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life. He’s playful, happy, and ready to enjoy his golden years with a loving family. Years ago his family added another dog, which means Schiatzi gets along well with canine friends, though their presence can trigger a marking tendency in new spaces. With a patient, experienced home, Schiatzi is a charming indoors buddy who is house- and crate-trained and settles nicely into a calm routine. He isn’t currently around children and, although he used to chase cats, he’s not interested in doing that anymore. He can be a little scared at the vet and at the groomer, but with gentle handling he does fine and relaxes once he trusts you. Above all, Schiatzi loves attention, belly rubs, and the comforting ritual of a daily routine followed by cozy cuddle time. Schiatzi deserves a retirement home where he’s cherished and treasured every day. If you’re an adult, dog-savvy home ready to provide steady love and patience, Schiatzi could be the perfect companion. Approved adopters, email SRT@SchnauzerRescueTexas.me  or to get approved, apply under the Adopt tab and ask for Schiatzi

Punkin (Denison, TX)

Meet Punkin, an 8-year-old, 12-pound Miniature Schnauzer with a heart full of love and golden years to cherish. After her owner passed away, a family friend stepped in, but they aren’t able to keep her long-term. Punkin is crate- and leash-trained, a quiet and polite companion who thrives on routine and gentle affection. She’s happily lived with kids and has always gotten along with other dogs—she grew up with two Schnauzers and a boxer, and she loved them all. Grooming is no trouble for this sweet girl, who enjoys a comfy grooming session and a tidy coat. When Punkin arrived, she was emaciated, but with steady meals and patient care she’s been gaining weight and feeling more like herself every day. Now she adores short walks, cozy cuddle time, and curling up by your side for quiet evenings. Punkin isn’t just a pet—she’s a loyal friend who will greet you with a wag and an “I’m here for you” sigh after a long day. She’s looking for a hero who can give her a safe, loving home where she can live out her retirement in comfort and lots of belly rubs. Could that be you? Approved adopters send an email to SRT@SchnauzerRescueTexas.me if interested in meeting her. Or apply under the Adopt tab, asking for Punkin.

Bo (Temple, TX)

Introducing Bo, a charming 7-month-old Schnauzer mix weighing in at 45 lbs! This energetic pup is ready to fill your home with wagging tails and playful adventures. Currently in search of a new forever home, Bo has a heart full of love and enough smarts to keep you on your toes. Bo’s previous owners realized that his high prey drive makes him too curious around their feline friend. But don’t worry—this playful boy is neutered, house-trained, and crate-trained! He’s also up-to-date on all his vaccines. If there are kids around, Bo is all in for fun! Although he tends to play-bite, with some guidance and training, he’ll learn to channel his energy in positive ways. While he may be wary and reactive towards other dogs on a leash, he turns into a social butterfly at the dog park, thriving in the presence of his furry friends. Bo is not just a pet; he’s a bundle of joy waiting for the right person to help him thrive. He needs an experienced owner who can confidently assume the role of alpha and offer him the leadership he craves. With patience and training, Bo’s playful and energetic personality will surely shine even brighter! If you’re an approved adopter and think you could be the perfect match for this intelligent guy, don’t wait! Approved adopters, email us at SRT@SchnauzerRescueTexas.me to meet him. Barney (Allen, TX)

Meet this charming 6-year-old Schnauzer mix, weighing in at 42 lbs and ready to find his forever home! With his handsome looks and sweet personality, he’s sure to steal your heart. Although he’s developed a bit of resource guarding when it comes to his food, this loyal boy is neutered, house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, making him a well-behaved companion. His current owners think it would be best if he went to a home as your one and only. He’s also quite the protector when it comes to his territory and can be a little cautious around strangers. While he hasn’t been around cats, he has a medium energy level, which means he enjoys relaxed strolls and would love to be your walking buddy. Plus, he does wonderfully at the groomer and is up to date on all vaccinations and preventative care. If you’re an approved adopter looking for a steadfast friend, don’t hesitate! Feta (Houston, TX)

I’m Feta, a 9-year-old, 11 lb Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears and a docked tail. I came all the way from Oklahoma to Houston so Schnauzer Rescue could find me a forever home. My former owner was a breeder who passed, and the family immediately looked for rescue to take me in. I made the trip like a champ and made myself right at home with my foster family. I have a crate if I want some downtime, but that doesn’t happen often. I’m house trained with the doggy door. That leash thing is weird though, and I know I’ll catch on eventually, but for now, I get to go out the door when I need to and come back in. It’s fun. I sometimes do a little skip step on my back leg, but the vet said there’s no point in doing any surgery as it could just make it worse. It doesn’t slow me down at all. I may be nine, but you can teach an old dog new tricks. Ask for Feta when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $200

Remo (Spring, TX)

Meet Remo, who is now 13-weeks-old and weighs about 5 lbs. He’s a happy, sweet puppy who enjoys play time, tug-o-war and lap time.   SRT will finish his vaccines and neuter at the appropriate time at one of their approved vets. If you’d like to adopt adorable Remo,  ask for him on your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee is $600

Scotchie (Houston, TX)

Meet Scotchie, a female 8-month-old, 11 lb. Scottish Terrier mix who came into rescue after her owners moved out and left her to fend for herself outside.  Despite that rough start, this little girl hasn’t let it dim her sweet spirit or hold a grudge against people. She is as trusting as they come. She is the perfect pint-sized companion. She’s friendly, affectionate, and loves everyone she meets. Whether she’s playing with her toys or other pups, exploring on walks, or showing off her adorable booty wiggles, Scotchie is a ball of fun. She’s the perfect balance of playful puppy energy and snuggly couch potato, making her an ideal addition to almost any family. All she wants now is a home where she’ll never be left behind again. Ask for Scotchie when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $400

Choco (Spring, TX)

Introducing Choco, an adorable 3-year-old, 10 lb chocolate Miniature Schnauzer with a heart of gold!  Found as a stray, this little guy wasn’t wearing a collar or microchip, and despite our best efforts to locate his original family, we sadly couldn’t find them. But now, Choco is ready to start a new chapter and find his forever home!  This sweet boy has a wonderful personality—he gets along famously with other pups and is great about grooming and vet visits. Although he might be a touch shy at first, his warm and loving nature shines through once he feels comfortable. Whether you’re relaxing at home or going for a ride, Choco is a quiet companion who loves to be by your side. Could you be the one to give Choco the loving home he deserves? If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to shower you with affection, look no further! Let’s help Choco find his happily ever after! To welcome Choco into your family, complete your application under the Adopt tab. His adoption fee is $400

Anita (Houston, TX)

Anita is a 4-year-old, 10-lb Miniature Schnauzer who came out of a hoarding situation and is now with a foster. She’s learning what it is like to be loved on. Her foster will update her bio once she learns more about this little girl. Click the Adopt tab, on your application ask for Anita, as a pup of interest. Adoption fee $400

Boedy (Houston, TX)

Boedy is a 2-year-old, 30-lb Schnauzer (we think a small standard) who was found on the hot streets of Houston. The finder had no luck locating his owner and turned to Schnauzer Rescue of Texas to help find him a new home. So far, we know he is great with other pups and is even cat-approved. He did great at his visit to the vet and, thankfully, is heartworm negative. His skin on his back is in horrible shape, likely due to a flea allergy. He’s being treated with medicated baths and prescription medications. He will be ready for adoption soon, as his skin heals. Ask for Boedy when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $400

Woofus (Houston, TX)

Looking for a playful, affectionate shadow who will happily follow you from room to room? Meet Woofus a year old, 30 lb. schnauzer mix. This handsome, non-shedding boy is the definition of a Velcro dog. He has the perfect mix of puppy fun and devotion. Whether you’re playing in the yard, going for a walk, or relaxing on the couch, Woofus wants nothing more than to be by your feet. A few weeks ago, Woofus was found wandering the streets, unkept, hungry, and clearly unsure of where he belonged. Based on the way he still braces himself when cars pass, it’s easy to imagine how frightened and alone he must have felt. Thankfully, a kind Good Samaritan brought him to safety, and when no owner came forward, rescue stepped in to give him the fresh start he deserved. Now healthy, groomed, safe, and ready for his forever family, Woofus is making up for lost time with plenty of tail wags, cuddles, and unconditional love. All he needs is a foster or permanent home where he can finally feel secure and cherished. He would do well in a home with another dog that wants to play. Woofus is looking for a furever family or foster to shower him with attention. Ask for Woofus when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $400

Pretty Lady (Houston, TX)

Meet Pretty Lady, a gentle 2-year-old sweetheart weighing 38 pounds who’s ready to find her forever home! Sadly, when her owner moved, they left her behind—but thanks to some kind-hearted Good Samaritans who fed her and reached out to us, SRT was able to rescue this amazing girl from the streets. Pretty Lady had a rough start, arriving with severe matting that required a full shave-down. But she handled her grooming session like a champ—calm, patient, and absolutely perfect during her bath and on the grooming table. At the vet, she was just as well-behaved, showing off her sweet and cooperative nature. This lovely lady has met several new pups and even a cat, all without a hint of drama—she’s truly a social butterfly! She seems to be house-trained and is overflowing with love and kindness. The only little quirk? She gets car sick, so car rides aren’t her favorite. But beyond that, she’s simply perfect. Pretty Lady is searching for a forever family who will cherish her and never leave her behind again. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this incredible girl, be sure to ask for Pretty Lady when you complete your application under the Adopt tab.  Adoption fee $400

Hogkins (Spring, TX)

Hogkins is a handsome 7-year-old, 11-pound chocolate Miniature Schnauzer with the sweetest personality. This adorable little guy was found as a stray with no tags, no microchip, and no one searching for him. When he arrived, his skin and coat were in rough shape, but with a bath, good nutrition, and plenty of love, he’s already on the road to becoming the gorgeous boy he was always meant to be. His foster family can’t say enough wonderful things about him. Hogkins is affectionate, playful, and loves everyone he meets. He happily trots up to strangers for pets, snuggles in laps, plays well with other dogs, and is both potty and crate-trained. During the day, he’s especially devoted to his foster’s son, following him around and soaking up every bit of attention. Hogkins does have one little quirk. At night, he can become fearful around adult men. During the daytime, however, he has no issues at all and is happy to seek out affection from everyone. We don’t know what may have happened in his past to cause this nighttime fear, but with patience and understanding, he’s shown what a loving, trusting little companion he truly is. If you’re looking for a loyal cuddle buddy with a heart full of love, Hogkins may be the perfect addition to your family. Ask for Hogkins as your Pup of Interest when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption Fee: $300

Boggie (Cypress, TX)

Boggie, is an adorable 4-year-old, 14 lb. schnauzer mix who came to SRT after he wandered into a random garage and made himself comfortable. He spent the night with his finder, who contacted us to take him into rescue. Boggie traveled without his papers, collar, tags or microchip. We’ve had no luck finding his owners, but in truth, he was badly matted and covered in fleas. He appears to be house-trained and has done well with other pups. He comes when called, but suspect he is an escape artist so will need a secure fenced yard. He did great with both his bath and grooming. Ask for Boggie when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $400

Paloma (Spring, TX)

Paloma came into rescue when a backyard breeder couldn’t care for her any longer. She is a 6-month-old, 12 lb sweetheart whose fur is super soft so she probably has lots of poodle in her. She loves racing through the backyard and playing with another pup. Zoomies are the best. When playtime is over, her favorite place is to be near her human. She adores people and is happiest curled up nearby after a busy day of adventures. Since she’s still a puppy and came from a breeder, she didn’t get the instructions on house training, but she’s picking up on it and with consistent breaks, she will get it.  She can be a bit vocal when she alerts to strangers or doorbells, so apartment living may not be best for her. Ask for Paloma when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $500.

Cullen (Baytown, TX)

Meet Cullen — a gentle little soul with the sweetest eyes and a heart full of devotion.  Cullen is a 5-year-old Schnauzer/Yorkie mix (with maybe a little something extra special!) who weighs about 19 pounds. This adorable boy is the definition of a one-person dog. Once he bonds with his person, he becomes their tiny shadow, faithfully following his foster mom everywhere to make sure she’s safe. It’s his way of loving you. Cullen may be shy at first, but with someone he trusts, he is incredibly affectionate and loyal. He gets along wonderfully with other pups and enjoys the simple joys in life — going for walks, riding in the car, and relaxing nearby while his person goes about their day. Grooming time around his head can make him a little nervous, but this brave boy does his very best. He just needs a gentle, patient touch and reassurance that everything is okay. Sadly, Cullen is afraid of men. We don’t know what caused this fear, but because of it, we believe he would thrive in a calm, all-female home with a kind, patient woman who will give him the time and understanding he deserves. In return, Cullen will give you a loyalty and love that runs incredibly deep. Those soulful eyes are just waiting to look up at the person he can finally call his own. If you think Cullen could be the little companion you’ve been searching for: Click the Adopt tab,  complete your application, ask for Cullen as your pup of interest. Adoption fee $300

Mason (Conroe, TX)

Mason is an adorable 4-year-old, 7-pound white Miniature Schnauzer with a heart that’s just waiting for the right person to help it shine. This little guy is looking for a forever home where he can feel safe, loved, and part of the family. Mason may be a bit shy when meeting new people, especially children, but once he learns to trust you, he’s a loyal and devoted companion. He loves being close to his person and would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time. If you’re looking for a little shadow to keep you company throughout the day, Mason is happy to volunteer! He’s a wonderful little gentleman who gets along well with other dogs, does great during grooming appointments, and is calm for veterinary visits. Mason is also house trained and walks nicely on a leash, making him an easy companion to have by your side. Because children make him nervous, Mason is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where he can relax and build confidence at his own pace. And if you have cats…well, Mason thinks they’re awfully fun to chase! He hasn’t quite figured out that cats come equipped with sharp claws, so a cat-free home would be the best fit. One look at Mason and it’s easy to fall in love. His photos show both his adorable summer haircut and his fluffy Schnauzer look—handsome either way! Mason is searching for someone who understands that the sweetest relationships are often built on patience and trust. Give him a little time, and he’ll reward you with unwavering loyalty and unconditional love. Could Mason be the perfect little companion you’ve been waiting for? Ask for Mason as your Pup of Interest when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption Fee: $400

Wily (Houston, TX)

At just 6 months old and 6.8 pounds, Wily may be tiny, but his personality is anything but! Just a few days ago, Wily was one big walking mat of hair. After his first spa day, he stole everyone’s heart by sitting like a perfect gentleman through his grooming. What a transformation! Now that he can see the world, Wily is making up for lost time. Wily is a happy, energetic little guy who loves toys, zoomies, exploring the backyard, and making new dog friends. Every day is a new adventure! Wily gets along wonderfully with other dogs, so a home with a playful canine companion would be a bonus. Most of all, he needs a family ready to embrace all the fun, laughter, and love that come with an active young puppy. Wily will be neutered on July 20 and will be ready for his forever home shortly afterward. Don’t wait, applications are being accepted now! This little guy is sure to bring endless smiles and keep his new family entertained for years to come. Could Wily be the missing piece of your family? Ask for Wily when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $600

Homer (San Antonio, TX)

Homer is a handsome 3-year-old, 19-pound Schnauzer mix whose journey to a better life began on the scorching streets of San Antonio. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan rescued him from the heat and searched tirelessly for his family. When no one came forward to claim him, they turned to Schnauzer Rescue Texas to help him find the loving home he deserves. Homer has now been fully vetted, is up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and neutered. He’s healthy, safe, and ready for the next chapter of his life. Right now, Homer is looking for a foster home where he can decompress, experience life as a cherished family member, and allow us to learn more about his personality. ** Adoption Pending ** Princess Pepper (Ft Worth, TX)

Princess Pepper is a beautiful 6-year-old, 17-pound salt-and-pepper Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears, a docked tail, and a heart full of love. After her owner, a breeder, passed away, she came to Schnauzer Rescue Texas to begin a new chapter—and she’s more than ready to find the forever family she’s always deserved. If you’re searching for a devoted companion, Princess Pepper may be your perfect match. Her favorite place in the world is snuggled next to her people, whether that’s curled up on the couch or cuddled close for a relaxing evening. She’s affectionate, gentle, and loves spending quality time with her humans. Princess Pepper is also a wonderful houseguest. She’s house-trained, sleeps quietly in her kennel at night, enjoys going for walks, and walks nicely on a leash. She rides well in the car and is a perfect lady during grooming appointments, making her an easy companion to take just about anywhere. She enjoys exploring the yard with her nose, taking in all the interesting scents around her, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal. Even while she’s out investigating, she knows her name and happily comes when called. Princess Pepper gets along well with both men and women and generally does well with other dogs. She can be a little bossy with male dogs at first, but after a few days of getting acquainted, she settles in nicely and becomes part of the pack. After spending the first part of her life raising puppies, it’s finally Princess Pepper’s turn to be the one who is pampered, cherished, and loved. She’s looking for a family who will appreciate her sweet nature, enjoy her cuddles, and give her the happy ending she deserves. Could Princess Pepper be the loyal companion you’ve been waiting for? Ask for Princess Pepper as your Pup of Interest when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption Fee: $300

Chance (McKinney, TX)

Chance is a handsome 7-year-old, 12-pound white Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears, a docked tail, and a heart that’s waiting for the right person to unlock it. After his owner, a breeder, passed away, Chance came to Schnauzer Rescue Texas for a fresh start. Now he’s looking for a very special adopter who understands that the greatest rewards often come with a little patience. Chance is a quiet, affectionate boy who forms deep bonds with the people he trusts. Once you’ve earned his heart, he’ll happily follow you from room to room, settle beside you on the couch, or curl up nearby while you go about your day. His loyalty is unwavering, and the connection he forms with his person is truly something special. Because of his past, Chance takes time to trust new people. He can be fearful, particularly around men, and has shown fear-based reactivity when he feels threatened or overwhelmed. He has also been protective of his space and the people he loves, and may react to unfamiliar dogs or people if introductions are rushed. His foster family has been working hard to help him build confidence through slow, positive experiences, and he has already made encouraging progress. However, Chance will need an adopter who understands that trust can’t be rushed. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he will continue to gain confidence and feel secure in his new home. Chance isn’t looking for an active lifestyle. Due to some weakness in his back legs, he’s much happier relaxing than going on long walks. He prefers spending time in a securely fenced backyard where he can explore at his own pace and then return inside for a cozy nap. He’s the definition of a couch companion. He would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with an experienced adopter who is willing to continue helping him learn that the world is a safe place. He may do best as the only dog, although careful, gradual introductions to another calm dog could be successful. Chance is also continuing to work on his house training and developing a consistent daily routine. Like many dogs coming from breeding environments, he’s learning what life as a cherished family member is all about. Chance isn’t the right dog for every family—but for the right person, he will be an incredibly loyal, devoted companion. If you believe in giving shy dogs the time they need to blossom, you’ll discover a loving little soul who simply wants to feel safe and loved. Sometimes the most meaningful relationships are the ones we earn. Could Chance be yours? Ask for Chance as your Pup of Interest when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption Fee: $300

Coop (San Antonio, TX)

Meet Your New Best Friend! ❤️

Looking for a loyal little companion who just wants to love and be loved? This sweet 9-year-old Schnauzer mix might be the perfect match. At just 18 pounds, he’s the ideal size for cuddling—and cuddling is one of his favorite things! He’s incredibly affectionate, loves to give kisses, and is happiest curled up next to his favorite person. He’s also full of charming little quirks. Rather than chewing up his toys, he proudly carries his favorites around the house like treasured possessions. He loves spending time outside and takes his job of keeping squirrels out of the yard very seriously. If you have a dog door, he’ll happily use it, but he’s also perfectly content with a regular potty schedule. This handsome senior does have heart disease and will need medication for the rest of his life. He’s looking for someone with a big heart who can look past his diagnosis and see the wonderful dog he truly is. In return, he’ll reward you with endless affection, loyal companionship, and plenty of sweet kisses. He may not be a puppy, but what he offers is something even more special: a calm, loving best friend who’s ready to make every day brighter. Could you be the person he’s been waiting for? Ask for Coop when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $200

Krusher (Spring, TX)

Introducing Krusher a wheaten Miniature Schnauzer who is about six years old and weighs about eight pounds with natural ears and a docked tail. Krusher came to rescue when the breeder decided to retire him and he’s been in a home ever since and loves all of the snuggles he missed. He came to rescue with some health issues, which have now been addressed. He’s on a prescription food which controls his IBS quite well. Krusher is a bit fearful of men and shakes a lot, but is never aggressive. He doesn’t have many teeth left after his dental! He loves women and enjoys cuddling.  What we do know so far is that he is good with other dogs, good being groomed and bathed and riding in the car. Interested? Apply online under the Adopt tab, and complete your application asking for Krusher. Adoption fee is $300

Nessie (Houston, TX)

Meet Little Nessie — a tiny survivor with a huge heart.

Nessie was found wandering the streets of Houston during bitterly cold weather, and a kind Good Samaritan stepped in just in time to save her. This brave little girl is about eight years old and now weighs a healthy 12 pounds after lots of good meals and love in foster care. Nessie appears to have a little schnauzer in her mix and has recovered beautifully after having a non-cancerous mass removed. She is now healthy, happy, and ready for her forever home. She gets along well with other dogs, enjoys playing with toys, and even has a playful puppy friend in foster care. However, Nessie would likely love being the center of attention where she can soak up all the cuddles she deserves. Nessie is house-trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and loves curling up in her foster mom’s lap for cozy naps. Galaxy (Houston, TX)

Galaxy is a handsome 17-month-old, 12-pound white Miniature Schnauzer with natural ears, a docked tail, and the sweetest personality you could ask for. While he’s still a young pup, life has already thrown him a few challenges. Galaxy struggles with allergies that have affected his skin and coat. Wanting him to receive the specialized care he needs, his family made the difficult decision to surrender him to Schnauzer Rescue Texas. Now, he’s on the path to feeling better and is looking for a loving foster home where he can heal while we help him become the happy, healthy dog he deserves to be. His foster reports that Galaxy is an absolute sweetheart. He’s gentle, affectionate, and wonderfully patient with children. He loves playing with other dogs and has a submissive, easygoing personality that makes him a great canine companion. Whether it’s a trip to the groomer, a visit to the veterinarian, or a ride in the car, Galaxy takes it all in stride like a champ. He hasn’t been around cats, so we can’t say for certain how he’d react, but based on his calm, submissive nature, we think he has the potential to do well with a proper introduction. Right now, Galaxy needs a foster family willing to give him a safe place to recover while his allergies are treated and his beautiful white coat returns to its full glory. In return, you’ll have the privilege of helping a truly deserving young dog get the fresh start he’s been waiting for. Could you be the one to help Galaxy shine again? If you’re interested in fostering Galaxy, please complete a foster application with Schnauzer Rescue Texas. Your kindness could make all the difference in his journey to a happy, healthy future. Ask for Galaxy under the Adopt tab when you complete your application. Adoption fee $400

This adorable 7-year-old Miniature Poodle mix found himself surrendered to a crowded shelter, but he hasn’t let that dim his happy spirit. Woofer is a friendly little guy who gets along well with other dogs and loves being around people. During his grooming session, he kept himself entertained by watching the other pups and wagging his tail nonstop. Jeremy (The Woodlands, TX)

Meet Jeremy 💛

Jeremy is an approximately 11-year-old Miniature Schnauzer who was found collapsed in a greenbelt, severely matted and malnourished. After no owners could be located, rescue stepped in to give this sweet senior a second chance. Jeremy has since received veterinary care, a dental cleaning, and a cardiology evaluation. Today, he’s healthy enough to focus on what matters most: learning that the world can be a safe place again. Jeremy is a gentle, sensitive soul who takes time to trust. A calm, patient, adult-only home will help him continue building confidence and settle in at his own pace. The wonderful news is that Jeremy has been making remarkable progress in foster care. In just a few weeks, he has gone from hiding in his bed most of the day to exploring the house, playing with toys, following his foster mom around, mastering the stairs, and confidently moving in and out through the sliding glass door. He’s even started joining the resident dog in neighborhood watch duties and reconnecting with his inner Schnauzer. 😄Jeremy is also good with other dogs, house-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. While Jeremy still needs patience and understanding, we’re seeing more of his sweet, playful personality every day. For the right person, helping him continue this journey will be incredibly rewarding. If you think Jeremy might be the perfect addition to your family, ask for Jeremy when you complete your application under the Adopt tab. Adoption fee $200

Alexandria (Houston, TX)

Alexandria is a sweet, gentle girl with a calm and loving personality. She was rescued from a Houston shelter in need of immediate medical attention. She had surgery to remove bladder stones and has made a full recovery. She’s about eleven years old and weighs about twenty-three pounds.  She enjoys her daily walks, always happy and well-behaved—she’s never had an accident in the house! Whether snoozing in her cozy crate or relaxing on the couch, she loves her downtime. She’s a mostly quiet girl, but she’ll let you know when she’s ready to go out by giving a little bark. She does not react to other dogs on walks; she’s very easygoing and confident. While Alexandria isn’t clingy, she thrives on gentle petting and affection. She’s been through a lot and is still adjusting to her new life, making her a special, resilient soul. A little mischievous at times, she can be quick to dash out an open door.  She’s a wonderful, low-key companion looking for her forever home! Click the Adopt tab, complete your application and ask for Alexandria as a pup of interest. Her adoption fee is $200

Mylo (Spring, TX)

I’m Mylo, a male white Miniature Poodle mix who is about three years old and weighs about eleven pounds with natural ears and tail. I was surrendered to SRT by my family as they had some changes in their situation and weren’t able to keep me any longer. There were children in my home and I did fine with them. But, to be honest, I can be a little nervous when being grabbed, so probably not a good idea to go to a family with  young kids. I was badly matted when I came to SRT as the “professional” groomer said I had to be sedated to finish my grooming. Well, my SRT volunteer did get me groomed. It wasn’t a fun time for me as I had to wear a muzzle, but we got thru it. I can now see out of my eyes! I’m actually not bad and if kept from being matted, I would probably do much better next time. Now the good stuff. I’m good with other pups, am house, crate trained and leash trained. I do like to be with my humans and am calm and tend to just nap. However, when I’m left alone, I voice my displeasure by barking, so no apartment living for me. Click the Adopt tab, complete your application and ask for me, Mylo, as a pup of interest. My adoption fee is $400

** Adoption Pending ** Lily Valerie (San Antonio, TX)

Say hello to Lily Valerie, a spunky senior with so much love to give. She’s a lively 10-year-old, 14-lb Miniature Schnauzer who’s proving that age is just a number! This sweet girl has a zest for life — and a deep love for plush toys and tennis balls. If it squeaks or rolls, Lily’s ready to play! Lily came to SRT after her former owner couldn’t afford the medical care she needed. Once our vet team stepped in and started her on medications, the transformation was incredible — she’s full of pep and personality again! Here’s what makes Lily such a gem: She’s great on leash and loves walks (and car rides too!). She recently strolled around The Pearl and soaked up every bit of attention — she loved being admired! She eats well and takes her meds like a champ (especially when peanut butter is involved). Lily is a cuddle queen — she wants to be on your lap and will happily remind you if you forget! She’s likely house-trained, and would thrive with someone who works or stays home and can give her the love she craves. Lily Valerie may be a “senior,” but she’s playful, affectionate, and ready to fill your home with joy. She’s waiting for that special someone who will cherish her golden years as much as she’ll adore you.
