Meet Bronxe, a handsome 8-year-old, 25-pound Miniature Schnauzer who recently arrived at SRT after some changes in his family made it necessary for them to surrender him. And while giving up a beloved family member is never easy, Bronxe is now waiting for someone to show him that losing one home doesn’t mean losing his chance at a forever family. Bronxe is already proving what a wonderful companion he can be. He is currently with a foster family and recently got to go to work with his foster mom, where he was a terrific little office mate. He also went to a hunting camp, where there were four other dogs—and Bronxe handled it like a champ! He did perfectly fine around all of them and settled right in. He rides nicely in the car and is good on a leash, making him ready to join his family on adventures and errands. But there is one thing Bronxe wants you to know: he really doesn’t like being left alone. When his people leave, he makes sure everyone knows he’s not happy about it by barking. Because of that, apartment living definitely isn’t going to work for this sweetheart. He needs a home where his family understands that he wants to be part of the action—not left behind for hours at a time. His former family has also asked that he not be placed with young children, so we’re looking for a home that can give Bronxe the environment where he feels comfortable and secure. At 8 years old, Bronxe wants what so many dogs want: a person or family to love, a comfortable place to call home, and the reassurance that he’s not going to be left behind. Bronxe can’t understand why his world changed. But he can understand love. He can understand a soft bed. A hand reaching down to scratch his ears. A voice telling him he’s a good boy. A family who takes him along because they genuinely want him there. And, most importantly, the feeling of finally knowing: “This is my home. These are my people.
