It’s with such a heavy heart that I wanted to let you know my sweet Lulu (formerly Louisa) crossed the rainbow bridge on April 3rd. For the last few months, she battled with breast cancer. Her passing was sudden and unexpected leaving all of my family with broken hearts as she was undoubtedly one of the best schnauzers we’ve ever had. She was with us for just under a year, but she’s left such an impact on all of us. She had the spark of a puppy while being 9 years old. She was the best snuggler, and she would let you know that she didn’t want you to stop petting her. Lulu loved to sunbathe whenever she could, and she would always get excited to see the leash come out because she knew she’d be going for a walk or going to grandma’s house. RIP Lulu

Harrison (formerly Micky)
Harrison was adopted in 2018 and passed peacefully in his sleep in January at almost 13 years old. His gotcha day picture is when he was adopted by Melanie. She reported he was her little best friend and she was so grateful to have had him. Even though he could be a bit grumpy, he loved being held and cuddled. RIP Harrison

** My New Family ** Studley (Houston, TX)
Poor Studley. This approximately 2 year old boy was living his best life until last Saturday. Allegedly he and his blind brother were abandoned at an apartment complex out in Monte Belvieu. A neighbor took them in for a bit, but Studley made a daring escape and instead of finding freedom he got kissed by a moving truck.
Fortunately he lived to have bragging rights. Studley does have some road rash and a fractured penis (of all things), but is otherwise unharmed. He is currently a resident of Vergi 24/7. His catheter will be removed tomorrow and then he can hopefully go somewhere more comfortable. Our understanding is he will be released after he proves he can pee normally.
The picture was before his hit and run. If you are available to foster please email srt@schnauzerescuetexas.me or apply online.
We added a link to donate incase anyone would like to help sponsor his stay in the ER. His diagnostic testing on intake alone cost $1500.

** My New Family ** Sterling Boy
Sterling was a breeder surrender when he was retired from their program. He was blind in one eye which the breeder said was due to some injury. Lots of potential adopters turned him down because of this issue. Not to worry though, as he was adopted by Erika in Round Rock. Stay tuned for updates. At SRT, it really was All About Sterling Boy

** My New Family ** Fendi
Fendi was pulled from a Houston shelter after she was surrendered by her family because she had seizures and they were unable to care for her. After seeing the SRT vet, she was properly diagnosed and is on the correct medication and is doing perfectly fine. Her wonderful foster family fell in love with her, and she is now living the good life in Tomball. At SRT, it really was All About Fendi!
