The Owner Surrender Form is to be used by those who own a Schnauzer or Schnauzer mix who can no longer care for the animal.  It is not to be used by those who find a Schnauzer or Schnauzer mix (see Stray Surrender Form for this purpose).  Completion and submission of the form does NOT guarantee that SRT will take the animal into rescue.  Whether SRT takes an animal into rescue is at the sole discretion of the SRT Directors.  Please complete the form with as much detail as is available.  The form will automatically be sent to the SRT Directors.

A form for relinquishing a dog you own to SRT

  • Owner Release

  • By submitting this form, you are declaring that you are the legal owner and you hereby release the custody of the animal named below to Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT) for the purpose of placement into an adoptive home. The following conditions apply: 1) The dog will not be destroyed except in cases of mental illness, severe physical illness or if a SRT Director deems the dog to not be adoptable; 2) Once you have submitted this form, and assuming SRT agrees to accept the dog, you may only recover the dog if it has not been placed in another home and only by complying with standard SRT adoption procedures (including payment of an adoption fee or payment of expenses incurred to-date, whichever is greater); 3) All claims to this dog are forfeited as of the date that an SRT Director elects to accept the dog into rescue.

  • There is no charge to have a stray scanned for a microchip at a local vet's office or at retail pet stores like PetSmart.

  • Is the animal up-to-date on vaccinations?

  • Describe the animal's behavior at the groomer if you have observed such.
  • Describe the animal's behavior at the veterinarian if you have observed such.

          • Statement Of Understanding

            This section must be read and agreed to by the owner. An Owner Surrender Form cannot be submitted without agreeing to the Statement of Understanding.
          • Schnauzer Rescue of Texas (SRT) is not obligated to take the animal submitted on this form simply because the form has been completed / submitted. Acceptance of this animal is at the sole discretion of the SRT Directors. SRT will contact you promptly regarding your request and our decision. As the owner of this animal, you acknowledge that by signing this form - by clicking the 'I Agree' button above - that should SRT accept the animal, you will have no further ownership interest in the animal. If you do not own this dog, you should complete the Stray Surrender Form instead.
