Gio (Montgomery, TX)

Meet Gio, a 7-year-old, 18 lb. black and white Miniature Schnauzer mix who was pulled from a totally overcrowded shelter where he was just terrified. Luckily, he has a nice foster mom who went and picked him up from the shelter and is getting to know him. In just a few days, she’s found that he is house-trained, treat-oriented, good on the leash, and he sleeps through the night in his crate. She has yet to hear him bark. He likes being brushed and follows everyone with a wagging tail. He loves to chase the squirrels,  a typical schnauzer prey drive. He was kennelled with another dog at the shelter and did great and was happy to have a companion pup. Unfortunately, like so many in the Houston area, he tested positive for heartworm disease, so it will be several months before he’s ready for adoption.
