From a life of neglect to a second chance at happiness… meet sweet Nessa.
Introducing Nessa, a beautiful 3-year-old, 18-pound Schnauzer mix who has just been rescued from a local shelter—and this little girl has already stolen hearts! Nessa was brought into the shelter along with 40 other dogs rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. We can only imagine what life must have been like for this sweet girl before rescue. She didn’t get the care, attention, or love that every dog deserves. But somehow, through it all, Nessa hasn’t let her past define her. This girl is simply happy. She is playful, curious, and wonderfully friendly. She’s doing great meeting the other pups and seems genuinely thrilled to discover all the wonderful things that come with being rescued. She rides beautifully in the car and was an absolute champ for her grooming session. It’s almost as if she knows that her life is changing—and she’s ready to embrace every bit of it! Sadly, Nessa did test positive for heartworm disease, something that is unfortunately common in dogs who haven’t received proper preventative care. But that’s just one more hurdle she has to cross on her journey to a better life. Her heartworm treatment is underway, and SRT will make sure she gets the care she needs. Nessa isn’t available for adoption just yet, but we’re looking forward to watching this sweet girl continue to blossom. She is expected to be ready for her forever home near the end of October. After everything Nessa has been through, we want her next chapter to be completely different. No more overcrowded conditions. No more being overlooked. No more wondering if anyone cares. Just a soft bed, a loving family, a full bowl, toys to play with, and the security of knowing she is finally home. Nessa has spent the first three years of her life simply surviving. Now it’s time for her to learn what it means to be loved. If you’re looking for a sweet, happy girl to add to your family, keep an eye out for Nessa. Her forever family may be reading this right now.
