A Letter From Shandi to My Future Family
Hi! My name is Shandi, and I’m writing because I think you might be the people I’ve been waiting for. I’m 6 months old and only 6 pounds, so I’m a tiny little girl. I’m a bit skinny right now, but don’t worry. My foster mom has taken this situation very seriously, and I’m happily accepting all the extra treats required to plump me up! I should probably tell you that I can be a little shy when we first meet. I just need some time to figure out that I’m safe and that you’re one of my people. Once I do, though, you might notice something funny… Wherever you go, there I am. Walking into another room? I’ll come too. Sitting down? I’ll be nearby. Wondering where Shandi is? You probably just need to look beside you. I really love being close to my person. I’m happiest when I know you’re there. I have lots of foster brothers and sisters, and I get along well with my doggie friends. I’m also already house trained and kennel trained. I can sleep in my kennel at night, although between you and me, it isn’t exactly my first choice. Right now, my kennel stays right beside my foster mom at night because being close to her makes me feel safe. Maybe someday, when I know I’m really home, we can negotiate my sleeping arrangements. Did I mention how portable I am? At only six pounds, I can even fit into one of those little dog carrier pouches! So if you’re looking for a tiny companion who would be perfectly happy tagging along on your adventures, I may be your girl. Mostly, though, I’m just a sweet little dog looking for someone I can trust, follow around, snuggle close to, and call my family. I may be tiny, but I have a whole lot of love waiting for the right people. Could that be you? Love, Shandi — Future Professional Sidekick & Treat Quality-Control Specialist.
