Samie, is a 3-year-old, 11 lb Miniature Poodle mix who was just pulled from a shelter in immediate need for veterinary care. Based on his numerous large puncture wounds and a left hip dislocation, the medical staff believe he was attacked by another animal. He was also covered in fleas and ticks. A volunteer alerted us to his urgent need to rescue him from the shelter so he could receive the care he needed. The volunteer picked him up and took him to the ER clinic where he spent the afternoon and evening. He is also anemic, probably due to all of the ticks and is on medication to treat the tick borne disease. He has since been completely shaved down to clean and repair his lacertations and to remove all of the ticks. His vet bill is being finalized now, but is approximately $1600.
