Meet Jeremy 💛
Jeremy is an approximately 11-year-old, 13 lb. Miniature Schnauzer with the sweetest little face and soulful eyes. A good Samaritan found him collapsed in a greenbelt, severely matted, malnourished, and barely able to move. After no owners could be located, rescue stepped in to give this little guy a second chance. Since then, Jeremy has received veterinary care, a dental cleaning, and a cardiology evaluation for a heart murmur. His cardiologist felt his heart changes were not of immediate concern, started him on medication, and cleared him for his dental procedure. Jeremy is now medically ready to find his forever home. Emotionally, Jeremy is still learning that the world can be safe again. He is a very shy, sensitive little dog who takes time to trust and decompress. In a calm home environment, he is starting to slowly come out of his shell — exploring a little more each day, enjoying soft beds, cozy hideaways, good food, and quiet companionship. Sudden movements and surprises can still make him nervous, so he will need a patient adopter who understands that trust with Jeremy is earned gently and slowly. Jeremy would do best in a quiet, adult-only home with someone who will allow him to settle in at his own pace without pressure or expectations. He is not the kind of dog who will instantly bounce into your lap on day one — but for the right person, helping this little guy feel safe again will be incredibly rewarding. He does well with other calm dogs but does fine as an only dog. Jeremy is ready for a soft place to land and a human willing to give him the time and patience he deserves.
