Meet Tena — a brave little 2-year-old girl whose journey is nothing short of remarkable. On a cold morning, a kind Good Samaritan discovered her curled up beneath their car, shivering, badly matted, and barely able to move. She was heartbreakingly emaciated, weighing just 7 pounds when she arrived at the vet. It took four hours on the grooming table to carefully uncover Tena’s tiny body, find her paws, and free her tail from the painful mats. Through it all, she was an absolute trooper, showing nothing but quiet strength and trust. Tena was severely malnourished and immediately began a recovery plan of four meals a day plus vitamins. Thanks to loving care, she’s now a very healthy 13 pounds. Once her health had improved, X-rays revealed a broken pelvis and femur. Since the pelvis injury was old, it could not be repaired, but she had a femoral head ostectomy on the femur. She has great house manners and is house and crate-trained, using a doggie door with ease. Despite everything she’s endured, Tena has the sweetest spirit. She does great with other dogs and adores curling up in her foster’s lap, soaking in the love she missed for far too long. Tena’s story is one of resilience, healing, and hope—and she’s ready for the happy life she deserves. Complete your application under the Adopt tab and ask for Tena. Adoption fee is $400
