Every Dog Needs A Home

This section is dedicated to dogs not in SRT’s care who need homes.  Different rescues try to help each other and this section is our way to try to help other dogs who also need to find homes.  Sometimes we may allow our adoption application to be used to rescue on of these dogs. Sometimes we will refer you to the specific rescue. Information can be found in each dog’s biography.  To view SRT dogs available for adoption, visit the “ME – Waiting On You” category under the “Our Minis” tab.

I’m a young girl with a ton of skills and I’d like to be in your loving forever home! I’m Honey and I’m a female mix of sorts with natural ears and a natural tail. I’m about one year old and I weigh about thirty pounds. I’m a very friendly and easy going girl despite my young age. I love my human friends and I’m good around other dogs too. I’m also crate trained, house trained and leash trained! My adoption fee is just $225. I’m not available through SRT. For more information, and to complete an adoption application for Honey, contact Rocio’s Rescues at www.rociorescues.org or 713-993-6014 or rocio@almosthomekennel.org.

My Friend – Fonzie

Fonzie: Nine years old with cropped ears and a docked tail.

Notes From The Shelter: Fonzie is a 9 year old cuddle bug and is young at heart. He currently resides at Gulf Coast Humane Society in Corpus Christi, TX. Our cattery staff often takes in cat friendly dogs (notice the cat behind the right picture!) to help with their chance of getting adopted which also allows the dogs to have free roam of the room instead of being cooped up in a kennel all day. He was brought to GCHS in December as an unclaimed stray. He’s neutered, heartworm negative, and current on all his vaccinations for the year. He does well with cats, other dogs, and children. Fonzie loves walks and is great on the leash! Getting him on a consistent schedule is recommended because he’s completely house broken and will hold it between walks. Fonzie’s ideal home would be with in a relatively quiet / low-stress environment. His energy level is average so he doesn’t require much more than a few walks a day. All he wants is to have a family of his own and to give you love and kisses for the rest of his life. Our shelter does transports out of state. Fonzie has his own email and that address is: fonziecc361@gmail.com. The Humane Society’s phone number is: 361-225-0845.

My Friend – Nana (being fostered in Dallas)

Nana is a friend of ours. She wishes she were a Schnauzer.  But, alas. Nonetheless, we’d sure like Nana to find a home! She’s a female, brown mix with natural ears and a natural tail. She’s a senior, about eleven years old, and she weighs forty-five pounds. She has some great skills including being crate trained, house trained and leash trained too! She’s a well behaved girl that should be OK around kids. She is quiet and calm and just watches the scenery. She’d love to hang out on the couch and watch you. Or cuddle you. Or both! You can complete the SRT adoption application if you have an interest in Nana.
